The Garfield Weston Merit Scholarship for Colleges is a program of The Canadian Merit Scholarship Foundation, and is sponsored by The W. Garfield Weston Foundation. It is designed to identify, recognize and reward well-rounded high school students and adults who intend to undertake full-time study in a two or three year program leading to a diploma one of our participating colleges. Since the program’s inception in 1998, the GWMSC has developed into one of the country’s largest open awards programs, and is the only scholarship program open exclusively to community-college bound students.
